Babies!

This is the post I promised in July! Bring out the grandkids and see if they can recognize their grandparents, or parents, as babies. I've put in 25 and some are very recognizable and some are of cousins we may not have thought of for years. Some of the photos are very faded and some must have been in a wallet for years, as they are dog-eared and cut to fit in one of those little plastic picture holders.  If anyone can name ALL of these babies, let us know! They are numbered 1 through 25 with no names attached. Which ones do you know for sure?

I think that cute little butter-ball blonde should win a prize or something. . .

McCoskerys 1940 - 1950

Remember these guys?

This may seem like a strange entry into the McCoskery photos, but this is one of my first and, sadly, only memories of Grandma McCoskery. I vividly remember the sound of these skaters and skiers falling on the glass top of a table in Grandma and Uncle's apartment. In the photo of the Christmas tree in the attached album, you can just barely see the little village set up under the tree. Another memory that comes drifting back when I see photos of this particular apartment is the smell of Uncle's cigar smoke. Anyone else remember that? Also, in the photo of Don, Gene and Auntie, did you notice the glass elves on the coffee table? They all had names (in my little girl brain), but I can't remember what they were! All of the album photos are of the McCoskerys in the 40s and early 50s.
Enjoy! And happy Fourth of July!

Aunts & Uncles

From the top left:  It looks like Elizabeth is leaving. I cannot remember Elizabeth's husband's name. Jeanne or Bob can. This includes Elizabeth, Frank, Marguerite, Alice and Mary.  Center top: Clarence, Janet and Mary Top right: Clarence and Sam (?) Bakke and Dad Bottom left: Dr. David and Mary Curry Bottom center: Elizabeth's husband and brother. Bottom right: Elizabeth, Mary, Alice, Frank and two gentlemen that I can't name.
Please remember, this is a Blog. By definition, that means you have to respond and/or correct me. Now that I'm looking at the names, I think I'm spelling Thibadeau wrong. Hmmm. Thibaudeau? Help me out, please!

For the younger viewers, I'm going to post a "name that baby" page. Partly just for fun and partly because I don't have a clue who these cute little smiles belong to!

Montana Country

This week I'm going through some more photos of the Thibadeau side of the family. I'll have them up today or tomorrow. First, I had to share this representative photo of a bear, which is one of 13 photos we have of bears in our family collection. I also have several photos of fish, deer and elk (living and dead) and Glacier Park scenery in black and white. There are numerous photos of Old Faithful and smaller geysers from all over Yellowstone.

This particular bear has a date of August 1963 - at least that's when it was processed! Our family didn't do a good job of scrap booking or even putting information on the back of pictures.

Hope you are all having a good summer! Stay away from the bears.

Where to begin?

Getting started with this project is more difficult than I anticipated! To begin with, In the bottom of a big, plastic tub, under Gram's pink sweater and next to Mom's pig cookie jar, I have baggies of photos that I want to share with Linda, Bob and Dave and your families. I will add pages from time to time and I encourage all of you to join the conversation and keep this blog going.

As I've been shuffling through the photos, memories keep popping up. For me, my earliest memories are mostly of the house on the corner of Breckenridge and Raleigh, although I remember the stairs in the house further up the hill on Raleigh. One of my earliest memories is of Dad's electric eraser and all of his fine pencils that he had lined up on the dining room table. Much later, a nice surprise was Jeanne's discovery of the Flathead Lake map that he probably did at that same dining room table.

So, what do you think? What are some of your earliest memories? The older grandchildren may have some, too.
